The gift shop on the way to the boat is a tribute to commercialism, huge, many divisions of space, just about everything we have been seeing along the way, and more. Basically, we mostly loved it, shopped it before and after our ride, even during our ride at the small branch inside the boat.
First, see Pawpaw and me on the boat; then see how the complex on shore looks from the boat? See the boat? Nope, that's not our boat; that's an older retired boat. I hope I find a photo of the one we rode.
Aren't we lucky? Here comes a float plane. It skims across the calm river and shows off with a couple of takeoffs and landings.
While passing nice homes in this prime location, we locate the original Discovery at the owner's residence. Seeing float planes at docks is not unusual. We also go by the Pump House, an upscale restaurant, and a couple asks me to photo them with it in the background since they had an anniversary dinner there last night. Along comes property with dog houses and a carrier for a sled team, a foreshadowing of Susan Butcher and her story.
