3/23-24 Sun-Mon

Sunday morning all six of us go to church together and stay for brunch. Our friends welcome our Minnesotans with heartfelt greetings and hugs.

A cooler day keeps us inside for the afternoon until we take a walk over to Arrowhead to inspect the changes. As tempting as the pool there looks, no one jumps in. We make a cherry cobbler, and when the granddaughters realize there us only one spoon to lick, they create a solution to divide it by front and back.

For dinner Sunday evening we grill ribeye steaks and zucchini and sauté sweet onions and baby portobello mushrooms. Yum! A favorite menu!

Monday morning I go to the Retired Teachers meeting at Neal's where two of my Concan friends give a wonderful program about Concan and Neal's with lots of history and photos.

I leave the meeting before lunch to join the rest of the family for a trip to Leakey. We eat at Mama Chole's, a Mexican restaurant that we visit twice when the Minnesotans come for a week. Rosa knows we require extra chips and salsa. (Of course we take bites before thinking of photos.)

Returning home, we spot a pair of whistling ducks on the Seven Bluff bridge, neither concerned about sharing space with our car.

At home again, activities include softball, bicycling, river time, netting fish, visiting with Aunt Mimi, practicing 42, more eating, and finishing the cherry cobbler.

Garner Dance 3/22

Our afternoon activity of kayaking from Seven Bluff to our house takes about two hours and leaves us plenty of energy for dancing at the Garner Park Pavilion. We do our part to keep the floor busy, but first a dad-daughter dance.
