Thanksgiving morning 11/26
Snowflakes begin to fall, and granddaughters catch the biggest fluffy ones on their tongues. In the kitchen they dice celery and onion for their dad's stuffing, skillful prep chefs. Light snow continues, and girls hasten outside to create snowballs and small snowmen. Board games take over as the popular activity, especially since our family has declared today to be free of all personal electronic devices (emphasis on the second syllable)!

MN day before Thanksgiving 11/25
With great weather for badminton, fierce competition ensues. Dinner is brisket cooked all day, roasted Brussels sprouts, saucy fresh green beans, and creamed sweet potatoes. Our tradition requires such veggie sides, somewhat healthy, to appear the day before the Thanksgiving meal along with a hefty portion of beef. Tomorrow we focus on turkey and carbs.
MN 11/23-25
Granddaughters had school the Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving, but Wednesday we went out for breakfast at the local coffee shop. Sadly, older daughter was at work but with us in holiday spirit, not the same at all and we missed her.

Laurel Tree 11/21
College friends who were at our wedding almost 50 years ago joined us at Laurel Tree in Utopia. We made lunch last four hours to celebrate and reminisce.
