Final Stops

Last stop of the day was Chocolate Ox for treats - - ice cream, candy, etc. Choosing was difficult, but I discovered a new combination of my favorite coconut - - toasted coconut pineapple ice cream! Luscious!!! Younger granddaughter opted for a huge blue push pop having vivid results.

Fortunately or unfortunately, friends rented the cabin next to the Chocolate Ox for an extra night as a break from their RV, so we could hardly avoid the store. We will be sad to see them return home tomorrow.

Quarters

Some of the group happily and hopefully put quarters in machines. Older granddaughter probably had the most luck tonight and was soon coaching other players. Wisely, younger granddaughter soon decided to use one of her quarters to buy a prize rather than risk it on another chance to win one.

The games rarely paid off, but the juke box always did.

Pub Games

Waiting for dinner at Northwoods Pub, our group played games and more games. Father and son, wife and husband, mother and daughter, generation and generation, laughter and good times prevailed for both players and spectators.

Main Lodge

Before dinner we went inside the main lodge to shop for shirts and souvenirs. Younger granddaughter noticed an advertisement for a fishing guide service that was using a photo of daughter and s-i-l as part of its promotional material. Pictured with them was the fish daughter caught last August, a real trophy that tasted delicious, as I remember.

Some of our group could not resist playing checkers while the others shopped. One more activity completed!

Water and More Water

The pool continues to attract all four children who never tire of running up those stairs.

This afternoon both families rode together on the double yellow banana that held ten people. Yesterday they rode on a giant tube shaped like a sofa. Both days they encouraged the boat's driver to satisfy their needs for speed.

Resorting

At the main resort area again, we met friends and relaxed on the patio near the pool and the beach club.

Late Night Cards

Unwilling to end the evening at a reasonable hour, some us played euchre while two others continue to tend the beach fire.

Hey friend, no talking across the table to your partner! Hey husband, good move to show your cards to the photographer while opponents look at the camera! Hey daughter, no fair having such an enchanting smile in every photo! Hey blogger, thanks for chronicling!

Sand and Fire

What better way to end the day! Making fire proved challenging for the guys. (Yay starter fluid and cardboard!) Gals prepared the drinks and snacks. (Yay s'mores!)

After fishing and dark hiking along the lake, kid generation buried into the sand and created an eerie photo op. Notice the jackets and hoodies necessary for all of us at this time of day.

On the Court

Inspired by the Olympics and the need to work off some dinner, volleyball players make good use of the court at Ernie's.

Having the Stamman family with our group always adds to the fun. We love those folks!

Grownups on Vacation

Children aren't the only ones having fun on this vacation. Adults gather to celebrate summer with cool beverages at the lodge pool and a tasty dinner at Ernie's on the lake.
