Wednesday MN 10/15
Tonight we pack meal kits for the Feed My Starving Children program. First we sign in and watch a presentation about the nonprofit and its work. Next we don hairnets, learn the process and precautions for our roles, and clean hands in the washroom. Then we head to the packing room, form our table teams, and get to work. Hold the bag under the funnel, add chicken flavor with vitamins, dried veggie bits, soy protein, and rice. Seal bags and put 18 in a box. Cheer loudly to celebrate the completion of each box! Recipients will prepare the packets with six cups of water and feed a family of six, perhaps their only meal of the day. Final activities are cleaning the tables and everything used, sanitizing, and sweeping. Then we meet in the warehouse to pray over all the pallets shrink wrapped and soon to be shipped where needed most in the world. An evening spent well!
Of course we must shop at the international market before leaving. I buy a basket, scarf, and mug, each having the name of the person that made it, and all proceeds going to feed the localities.

Wednesday MN 10/15
This morning we run errands, including shopping for Halloween costume accessories. In the afternoon, girls ride bikes to park beyond cul-de-sac and sweetly befriend a five-year-old girl there with her mom. Such a gorgeous fall day, one to be remembered for Minnesotans soon facing snow!
Tuesday MN 10/14
We arrive in Minnesota, meet the new nanny, have a few minutes with younger granddaughter whose bus comes early, and wait for older's bus.
Dinner is at Lucky's, not far away and a favorite. Tonight is Bingo night, and we actually win a game!

Birthday Celebrations 10/11
We went to Neal's for lunch with friends. Helen and Gayle entertained the group with a history of Concan. Great old photos and family memories!
In the evening we listened to Camille Sanders at House Pasture and danced to classics as well as to her original songs. Her band was Asleep at the Wheel, George Strait's musicians. Always a good performance!
