Lunch and the worst martini ever!

20180715 Excursion Panoramic Bergen (5 photos)

Along the way: map with the expected route, bridge connecting to an island, our ship from a distance, the port area, Starbucks building peeking through, wooden boat and buildings from another era.

20180715 More of Bergen (5 photos)

Today: Jim and I with Bergen Bryggen in background, royal residence when they are in town, neighbors to their residence, garden gazebo again, art installation obscured the day before by sunbathers.

20180715 Viking Daily and breakfast (5 photos)

We order room service for breakfast and get ready for the day. The two plates not shown have smoked salmon and cheeses, both with appropriate garnishes.

20180714 Dinner (5 photos)

At The Restaurant, we both have crab soufflé for starters, Jim has a filet on stewed beans, and I have scallops on a butter wine sauce with asparagus.

Pianist Olga plays selections from Norwegian composers, mainly Edvard Grieg, while art from Edvard Munch is projected on the big screen.

29180714 Making ourselves at home (5 photos)

Here is daily bulletin and another cruise ship next to ours. Port Talk happens every 6:30pm to illuminate where we are and where we're going.

20180714 Lunch with views (5 photos)

20180714 On board! (6 photos, I hope)

We taxi to the dock, go through security, enter through the gangplank, receive glasses of champagne, find our stateroom, check out the "veranda," and meet neighbors to our left from Britain. All is well on the Viking Sun!

20180714 Walking to hotel (6 photos)

Walking back to our hotel, we encounter new and familiar street scenes. The gazebo stands at one end of the lake gardens. The middle three photos enhance a pedestrian area. The last two show the fish market from another direction and the historical building housing the Starbucks we visited yesterday.
