Led by our guide, we meander through the rainy village and make a scheduled stop at a local restaurant for hot beverages and apple tarts.

Wednesday 20220330 Morning tour at Montmartre


Mostly ironic that the bus drives past Moulin Rouge on the way to Sacred Coeur! When we arrive, rain prevents good photos and anyone climbing the steps, so our Viking guide leads us to take the funicular and enter the church. Beautiful paintings, stained glass, statues, and a tiny replica under plexiglass!

Tuesday 20220329 After dinner

Back at the sky bar, we used the code to access the drink menu and each ordered Baileys. Then we waited for the Eiffel lights to twinkle. End of day!

Tuesday 20220329 early dinner (no lunch today)

This evening we ate inside a corner restaurant across from hotel, inside due to cold rain and smokers outside. Beer for Dad and rose for me, starters of trio of pork terrines for Dad and faux gras for me, prime rib with potatoes for Dad and French onion soup for me. All very nice, but don't think Dad decided on his starter all by himself, took some of my convincing.

Tuesday 20220329 morning walking tour of Marais area (8 photos)

Bus took us from hotel to Marais area with Guide Bruno, and he took us through highlights. When tour ended about noon, most of group returned to hotel on bus, but Dad and I stayed to explore. First was a walk to the Picasso Museum where we stayed a couple of hours. Next was Notre Dame, then Shakespeare and Co. Bookstore, and finally a couple of beers nearby. We caught a taxi for the long ride back to hotel.

Last night (Monday night 20220328)

Just noticed that last night's post didn't include text, have no idea why not, so this was it:
Bar is up 34 floors with great views. Notre Dame is above Arc but hazy to see. Dad saw doree' on his beer label and discovered it meant golden.

Monday 20220328 Dinner

Convenient restaurant across street from hotel. Nice dinner of scallops and cod with wine. Walked a few blocks, took photo of hotel, bought a pastry for Dad.
