Hair 6 years old

After choosing a dress to wear today, she happily showed off this style. The mommy has lots of designs in her repertoire.

Hair 8 years old

Weekend means that the hairdo can be more intricate, and she has definite ideas about style.

Quidditch

Quickly assembled by granddaughters, the Lego set is now the setting for multiple matches. And other drama. Play has stopped only so they can watch a Harry Potter movie, today the first one in the series - - - again. Reciting their favorite lines with the characters certainly develops their British accents.

JW added to SW equals two followers.  Woohoo!

School Fundraiser

We bought raffle tickets for about fifteen baskets packed with themed goodies, but none went home with us. Older granddaughter hoped for the Harry Potter basket while younger granddaughter wished for the American Girl one. Our winning streak ended after the family's lucky drawings last year and the year before. We also gave attention to the silent auction, but winning there took more cash than luck. .

Feet Up

Another warning! Now I'm experimenting with sending a photo direct and wondering where this long caption will appear. My apologies to any readers. (I need to check whether that number has increased.)

Feet are up because we have arrived in Minnesota and are putting up our feet after unpacking and before picking up the granddaughters.

Warning: live blog without drafting

I changed the setting so I can blog direct, but I'm not sure where or how the different parts of my email will appear on the page. Also thinking that Sent from my iPhone will show at bottom for later removal. Here goes send!

Follower Number One

I actually have a follower!  My first official one!  And she has a great new photo!  (I slap on a giant pair of sunglasses when someone takes out a camera, too.)  I want to wish a Happy Valentine's Day to all my followers, even if I have only one.

Utopia

At Laurel Tree in Utopia, diners escape into a Texas version of Provence.  I have been there more often for lunch than for dinner, but last Saturday night we celebrated with friends.  Always a treat.  And much cheaper than a flight to France.

Fuzzy Floater

(from January 8)

Who knew that Winnie the Pooh has embraced the life of a tuber!  Texas cousin surprised granddaughters with this puzzle that portrays the honey-loving bear floating in a tube.  They claim to have outgrown Winnie but did giggle at the idea of all the critters enjoying some of their favorite river activities.  Carrying an umbrella might be a good plan to prevent too much Texas sun on Minnesota skin.
