20180717 Dinner (7 photos)

We join the captain and staff for a reception honoring passengers who have sailed with Viking more than once. Then we head for dinner and start with proseco again. My starter is oysters Rockefeller, Jim's prawn salad. Both of us have prime rib with Yorkshire pudding and Brussels sprouts, and red wine. Dessert is maple nut bread pudding for me and creme brûlée for Jim.
Tomorrow we see Denmark.

20180717 Lunch (7 photos)

Lunch is late, mine mostly veggies, exceptional roasted cauliflower, eggplant, etc. Ship departs at 2:00pm, two others waiting and one having left earlier. Today with four cruise ships in town, more than ten thousand tourists are visiting. On our way out, we pass two bridges and an oil rig. The North Sea is big business for Norway.

20180717 Museum ending with snacks (7 photos)

Museum tour ends with tastes of viking foods. Driving back to ship, I notice a theatre showing Romeo and Juliet, a refreshing reminder of the universality of Shakespeare's appeal.

In old times, white houses signified wealth. The three swords buried with hilt up to end a war long ago represent peace, unity, freedom. Sweet little church has two monuments for its benefactors. Sandy beaches come and go for this seaport.
