(This is the challenging day we have repeatedly been warned about, and it exceeded all expectations!)
The scenic drive of about 90 minutes ends in the lower village, and Jim and I opt to take the bus up to the bridge that overlooks Neuschwanstein Castle. On the right of the bridge is the waterfall, on the left the Castle. (Yes, I took those photos with my iPhone!) Cinderella!
Our tour starts promptly at the scheduled time and does not allow any photos inside the Castle, so we buy a book, just as they intend. The scaffolding in use for current maintenance projects screens parts of the Castle, and our tourism provides the much needed funds for preservation here and also for most of the older buildings we have seen on this trip.
